I have a 15 year old miss kim lilac on a standard. The last 5 years the blooming is less and less The plant looks healthy about 4 ft diameter globe.... I trimmed 1/3 of my Miss Kim LIlac to the ground 2 years ago.

Understanding the Context

I did not trim another 1/3 the following year because there is no sign of new growth a... The name Miss Kim Dwarf Lilac (Syringa patula 'Miss Kim') can be deceiving; since it's 'dwarf,' people figure it must remain small. In fact, it gets to be about 5+' tall over time and is dwarf only when compared to the old-fashioned common lilac which gets about 10-12' tall. This is the 5th year for my Miss Kim lilac bush.
