Understanding the Context

I did all kind of research about them, but when i called a friend of mine that kinda knows his way around dogs, he told me that he wouldn't advise me to get one because they smell really bad. The Chow (who is male and about 2-3 years old, purebred) was being abused, not fed regularly and being left outside rain/cold or whatever. My friend is located in Kissimmee and is looking for a Chow Rescue Group who can take this very sweet little boy and give him all the TLC he deserves. It looks like a chow factory farm. Just my personal opinion. What kind of life do those chows ... I'm new here (a great community you all have going here, btw) and actively preparing in adding a chow baby to my family.
